The best clinical decisions are rarely the product of one perspective. They emerge when healthcare professionals bring their expertise together, challenge each other’s assumptions and learn from one another in pursuit of the best possible care.
That collaborative approach guided the 13th Annual Texas Children’s Hospital Advanced Practice Provider (TCHAPP) Conference. Designed for and by advanced practice providers (APPs), the conference brought our APPs from pediatric specialties and primary care together to evaluate complex clinical cases, exchange evidence-based knowledge and refine the judgment that defines patient care.
The value was not in reaching the same conclusion. It was in understanding how experienced clinicians arrived there. Real-life patient scenarios made differences in reasoning visible, including how information is weighed under pressure and how our APPs shape decisions in practice.
“Being part of organizing and attending TCHAPP was such a joy,” Congenital Heart Surgery Clinical Lead II Dr. Jennifer Barr said. “Planning the conference strengthened my connections with other APPs across our system. It was also inspiring to learn from my APP peers, who are true experts in their fields and deeply committed to advancing patient care.”
We appreciate our APPs for their expertise, collaboration and commitment to growth. Each discussion, clinical insight and professional connection improves team coordination, informs clinical decision-making and enhances care across our organization.
