Tell us how you found out you won a Super Star Award.
My manager told me during our onsite team collaboration session. Later that day, I was honored at our quarterly department meeting. I was both surprised and honored to learn I had been selected for a Super Star Award. Receiving recognition from my peers and leadership was meaningful because it reinforced that the work we do behind the scenes positively impacts our providers, patients and teams across the organization.
What does it mean to be recognized for the hard work you do? How has the organization helped you achieve your personal and professional goals?
Being recognized for my work is incredibly rewarding because it validates the effort, dedication and collaboration required to support such a complex healthcare environment. Texas Children’s has provided opportunities for growth through professional development, challenging projects and collaboration with talented colleagues across the organization. This support has helped me expand my technical expertise, strengthen my leadership skills and contribute to initiatives that improve provider and patient experiences.
What do you think makes someone at Texas Children’s a Super Star?
I believe what makes someone a Super Star is consistently demonstrating our organization’s values of HEART, including excellence, by putting patients and families first, supporting teammates and going the extra mile to solve problems. A Super Star takes ownership, embraces collaboration and remains focused on making a positive difference, regardless of their role. The people who stand out most are those who not only excel in their work but also help others succeed.
What is your motivation for going above and beyond every day at work?
My motivation comes from knowing that the work we do ultimately supports the care patients receive. While I may not interact directly with patients every day, the systems and tools I support help providers work more efficiently, reduce administrative burdens and focus more time on patient care. Knowing my contributions help improve healthcare outcomes and support our clinical teams inspires me to give my best every day.
