Beginning May 18, 2026, Garage 12 West Tower officially opened as a valet-only garage, helping create a more convenient and efficient experience for patients and families visiting Texas Children’s.
With vehicles now parked and retrieved on site, valet retrieval times will be significantly shorter. The new process is especially helpful for patients and families with appointments requiring additional assistance, including day surgery, radiology and other procedures involving sedation. Patients can now be escorted directly to B2 for easier vehicle pickup, helping simplify the discharge process and improve the overall experience for families.
The change also supports patient flow across the hospital, allowing patient transport teams to move patients more efficiently and helping make rooms available more quickly for newly admitted patients.
The opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 15. The space also features artwork created in 2006 by students from EA Jones Elementary School. During the ceremony, teacher Michele Rose saw the artwork displayed in the garage for the first time, adding a meaningful moment to the celebration.
