In November 2022, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) awarded Texas Children’s with Stage 6 of the HIMSS Analytics Maturity Adoption Model (AMAM) after a full day of showcasing our analytics strategy, data governance, and analytics capabilities. Validating for HIMSS AMAM Stage 7 (and revalidation for the Inpatient and Ambulatory Adoption Models, EMRAM and O-EMRAM) will take place on March 28-29 with a two-day virtual visit, featuring case studies and conversations with physicians and nurses from specific inpatient and ambulatory units. Should you be asked to participate, the team will partner closely with you to ensure minimal impact to your daily work duties.

What is HIMSS Stage 7?

Stage 7 demonstrates IS, clinical and operational excellence – highlighting our ability to transform health care by striving for innovative ways to advance patient care, improve outcomes, and maintain operational efficiencies on a global stage. Our current technology adoption allows more focus on quality initiatives like reducing patient risk, shortening wait times, streamlining communication, improving device integration and building more meaningful data governance.

We are leaders in the industry, and this validation speaks to the amazing multidisciplinary work we do here at Texas Children’s. Take a look above at our HIMSS journey so far.

Over the years, our digital health strategy has evolved from technology implementations and partnerships that encourage user adoption/optimization to data capture, analytics and development of machine learning models. Most importantly, we continue to maintain focus on positive patient outcomes and ease of use for clinicians.
