Periwinkle Kickball Classic brings in $52,000

Forty-eight teams representing 15 departments helped bring in $52,000 at the 6th annual Periwinkle Kickball Classic on November 2.

The following teams played in the “Just for Fun” division:

  • Kickin for the Cure – Texas Children’s Cancer Center
  • New Kicks on the Block – Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands Cancer Center
  • TCHP – Texas Children’s Health Plan
  • Kickin’ Assets – Texas Children’s Financial Services
  • Kickin’ It With PMG – Texas Children’s Pediatrics Pediatric Medical Group
  • One Kick Wonders – Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus Ambulatory Department

Other teams competed in the “In It To Win It” division, which vied for the classic championship.

  • Average Toes – Texas Children’s Pediatrics Cinco Ranch
  • Ballievers – Texas Children’s Pediatrics Sugar Land
  • Bone Crushers – Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus Orthopedics
  • Club Foot –Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands Therapy Department
  • Inotropes – Texas Children’s Intensive Care Unit
  • Kickin in the Woods – Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands
  • PM&aRmy – Texas Children’s Hospital Physical Therapy Department
  • Team Radioactive – Texas Children’s Hospital Radiology Department
  • Blame Anesthesia – Texas Children’s Hospital Anesthesia Department

Club Foot finished as the 2019 Texas Children’s kickball champion. PM&aRmy finished as the 2019 Texas Children’s kickball runner up. And, Team Radioactive finished as the 2019 bronze bracket runner up.

The top three fundraising teams from Texas Children’s were:

  • Kickin for The Cure – $1,940
  • Team Radioactive – $1,000
  • New Kicks on the Block – $678

These funds will go toward healing programs and camps for children, young adults and families who are challenged by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
