Melissa Starner

Registered Nurse, West Campus
2018 Caught You Caring Recipient

In just under three years here at Texas Children’s, Melissa has made an incredible impact on patients at West Campus. Melissa’s passion for nursing shines through not only her presence, but her overall dedication to her job. Specifically, she knows that caring for patients and comforting families go hand-in-hand.

One patient in particular expressed how grateful she was to have such a compassionate nurse. While her newborn was still in the hospital dealing with a serious congenital condition, Melissa took the time to talk to the patient’s mom and listen to her concerns, and help her find solutions. She was very grateful to have someone provide excellent patient care, while also responding to her needs.

The patient’s mom mentioned that she had an angel looking over them, and that angel was Melissa.
