June Well-Being Newsletter

Thrive & Revive: Employee Wellness Month

Employee Wellness Month takes place every June and serves as an opportunity for organizations to show support and appreciation for their dedicated workforce. The Workforce Well-Being team is excited to kick off Employee Wellness Month with this year’s theme: Thrive & Revive! This month is dedicated to supporting your health, safety, and resilience through wellness education programs, injury prevention resources, and proactive health initiatives.

Emerging research continues to show that employee well-being directly impacts workplace performance, engagement, and overall quality of life.  We want our teammates to thrive by adopting healthy, proactive wellness habits and to revive by prioritizing recovery, preventing injuries, and restoring balance to their lives. Throughout the month, our teammates will have the opportunity to participate in:

  • New Health and Injury Prevention Program and educational Website on Connect

  • InBody Assessment Program to better understand body composition for tailored fitness and nutrition support

  • Movement, mobility, and recovery-focused programs and events to achieve wellness goals

This month highlights the importance of physical, mental, and emotional health. When we prioritize wellness, we foster a more engaged and productive workforce where teammates are valued and supported.

Know Before You Go

The aim is to reduce overall healthcare costs and ensure that high-intensity emergency resources are available for true, life-threatening emergencies. Team members are welcome to stop by and speak with the Well-Being Team, Cigna, and the Employee Medical Clinic for information on the best places for care in emergent situations. For more information regarding where to go for healthcare, please review our flyer here.

InBody Program

The Well-Being Team will offer the InBody Program to team members across multiple Texas Children’s campuses. InBody assessments provide a more accurate measure of body composition than a standard BMI assessment by breaking down weight into muscle mass, body fat, and water. The InBody test and assessment results help you understand the steps you can take to continue improving your health goals. Team members will also receive additional resources to realign and refocus on their wellness goals.

Times: 10:30 AM – 2 PM (Last appointment 1:45 PM)

Please click here to register for an InBody assessment at your campus location. InBody assessments are offered to employees for no charge.
