Heather Eppelheimer consistently rises above and beyond as a supportive teammate. On one particular occasion, Heather was quick to offer support in any way she could to our patients and their families during a high-stress morning. Heather not only made sure a child was best prepared for a procedure, but as she heard of another need on the same unit pertaining to an end of life situation, she stepped up to take pictures for the family as the typical photography company was unavailable. Heather not only provided support to her colleagues but also put the patients’ and families’ needs at the top of her priority list.
Heather has become a staple of support and mentorship for our Child Life Department. She approaches each day with a mission to provide optimal, compassionate care to her patients and families, while also ensuring that her colleagues and teammates are feeling supported in the exceptional work they do. She truly exemplifies living compassionately and amplifying unity in her every day work. She is continually provided with Caught You Caring examples, STARs, and awards highlighting the strong work she provides to patients and their families, her team and Texas Children’s Hospital.
