The Texas Stars swapped the ice rink for hospital hallways, bringing smiles to patients and providers at Texas Children’s Austin.
Players and mascot Ringo’s visit included stops in the fourth-floor playroom and inpatient unit. The hockey team also visited patients in radiology, outpatient clinics and the pre-operative waiting area. During these stops, the team played bingo, posed for photos, shared high-fives and wrote on our Gratitude Wall.
The special visit gave children facing complex medical issues a chance to take a break from their daily routines and simply be kids, showing the power of connection, community and compassion.
