Take FIVE: Strengthen social justice habits

January 25, 2021

There is no social change fairy. There is only the change made by the hands of individuals.” – Winona LaDuke

2021 is here! Let’s welcome this year by strengthening our social justice habits to create effective change in our lives and those of others. Change can be challenging so let’s focus on setting small, daily goals that lead to new habits. To help you get started how about committing to a 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge © and TAKE5.

Who can do it? I can be done individually, with friends and family, or organization-wide.

Why do it? Understanding the complexities of racism, privilege, and oppression and taking a stance on social justice, equity building, and inclusion drives change.

Where to start? For 21 days, do one action to further your understanding of racism, inclusion, social justice, and equity.

How it works? Make a plan that includes readings, podcasts, videos, observations, and ways to form and deepen community connections. Keep track of these for 21 days using a chart (sample of Track Form – scroll to the end)
