Our next virtual town hall is just around the corner! Hosted by Chief Nursing Officer Jackie Ward, the presentation will be streamed via Microsoft Teams Live from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, December 13.

During the town hall, Jackie and co-presenters will share important system updates and touch on topics like surging winter activity levels, employee safety, and nursing recruitment and retention. The presentation will also include time for responses to pre-submitted questions that can be sent to info@voiceofnursing.org – any unanswered questions will be responded to directly via email.

Patient care is our first priority, so we know not all nurses will be able to watch the livestream. A recording of the town hall will be available on-demand after the event on the Voice of Nursing blog.

Add it to your calendar and spread the word! For more details and instructions on how to access the livestream, click here to view the flyer.

More than 60 nurses from every Texas Children’s campus and the Health Plan have been named recipients of the 2022 Excellence in Nursing Awards from the Good Samaritan Foundation for offering extraordinary and compassionate care and service at the bedside.

Each Excellence in Nursing honoree was nominated by their peers for demonstrating passion for the nursing profession, leadership, mentorship and service to the Houston community. The nominations were reviewed and scored by a selection committee comprised of clinical leaders in the Texas Medical Center.

Recipients were honored on October 27 at the 18th annual Excellence in Nursing Awards Luncheon, which celebrated and recognized outstanding nurses in education and clinical practice throughout the state. The awards are among the largest programs in Texas that recognize the dedicated nurses who are actively working in the profession.

Three Texas Children’s nurses were selected to receive Gold Awards this year, the highest honor. Click on each name to watch their tribute video.
