Heart Month

American Heart Month is observed every February in the United States. It’s a nationwide initiative designed to raise awareness about heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States, and promote heart-healthy living. The Well-Being team will host Heart Month tabling activities at each Texas Children’s campus. Please see additional details below. Heart Health Webinar 

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for adults in the United States, but it is preventable. We want you to have the information and tools you need to live a heart-healthy lifestyle. 

Please join Health Promotion Specialist Morgan Ford and Registered Dietitian and Health Coach Dillon Wells for a discussion on improving your heart health and overall quality of life.

Texas Children’s Run Club 2026

Whether you want to improve your cardiovascular strength and endurance, shed a few pounds, or spend more time outside, the TCH Run Club is the place for you! Join the Well-Being team on the second Saturday of each month this year to run, jog, or walk at Memorial Park. Yes, walkers are highly encouraged to join! This 3-mile run or walk is friendly, and dogs, families, and friends are welcome.  

Wear red or pink for the first TCH Run Club meet-up of the year, which is on Valentine’s Day, to kickstart your heart health journey!

Employee Medical Clinic Free Health Screening Event  

Start your year strong by scheduling your health screenings! A quick check-up now can help you catch potential issues early, stay on track with your wellness goals, and enjoy peace of mind throughout the year. These health screenings include a cholesterol panel, a Hemoglobin A1C test, and a Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment. Texas Children’s team members also have access to helpful resources, including Cigna, the Well-Being program, and EMC Providers, to support their health and wellness needs.

The Rose Mobile Mammogram Program 

The Workforce Well-Being and Benefits teams are collaborating with The Rose to bring the mobile mammogram to Texas Children’s locations!

Protect Your Heart: Hypertension Education Program

These 1-hour weekly meetings will include two sessions per day covering how nutrition, stress management, and physical activity affect hypertension.​

  • Date: Every Thursday beginning February 5 and ending February 26
  • Time: Morning session begins at 7 a.m. and lunch session begins at noon
  • Location: Virtually via Microsoft Teams
