The Edward B. Singleton Award recognizes team members in Radiology whose outstanding leadership and contributions to the department’s mission have a significant and positive impact on advancing patient care, education, research or Texas Children’s core values.

Dr. Mahmood is highly engaged with every aspect of education, thinks creatively, takes care of the well-being of all trainees, reaches out to peers and collaborates with other faculty members to enhance the learning experience. She is a driving force behind the education program for radiology residents and fellows in pediatric radiology. Together with Matthew Longoria, Dr. Mahmood shows authentic leadership in advancing this part of the department’s mission.
Ultrasound Advanced Specialist Monica Rhiew earned the Edward B. Singleton Award for Staff.
Monica Rhiew exemplifies excellence in patient care and education. She teaches new hires how to best serve patients and families, even in challenging circumstances, emphasizing the importance of creating space for parents to ask questions and understand processes. Monica is always willing to fill gaps where needed, demonstrating dedication and leadership in every aspect of her work.
Clinical Educator Lamont Hill earned the Edward B. Singleton Award for Administration.
Lamont has more than 30 years of clinical service. He has become a cornerstone of excellence and inspiration within the Radiology department. Lamont connects with colleagues across roles and disciplines, unifying the department and contributing to its collaborative culture. His dedication is evident in projects like the INVEST campaign, where he goes beyond tasks to ensure success. His contributions strengthen organizational goals and enhance patient safety through his work as an educator.
