Please join us in recognizing these Texas Children’s nurses who make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families every day:
Dawn Miranda — Staff Nurse (OB L&D)
Every detail was handled with such compassion and attentiveness. Dawn’s dedication, kindness and expertise turned what could have been a frightening and stressful experience into something empowering and beautiful. I will always remember how she made me feel safe, cared for and capable. She is truly an exceptional nurse, and I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for me and my family.
Lisa Sowers — Staff Nurse (TCC OP Clinic)
We had an end-of-life patient from another country whose dying wish was to return home to pass away surrounded by family. Her dedication and extraordinary efforts ensured that this patient was able to travel home safely and spend their final days surrounded by loved ones.
Mary Williams — Staff Nurse (15WT)
With more than 33 years of nursing, Mary is one of the most experienced nurses in our unit which cares for diverse patient populations including complex care, gastroenterology, neurology and behavioral patients. She is a respected resource nurse, preceptor and valued team member. Her knowledge base is vast, which gives her the confidence and expertise to lead in crisis situations.
