We celebrated two teams whose work truly reflects the core values of our hospital: Environmental Services and Patient Transport. Although their efforts often take place behind the scenes, their impact is woven into every moment of patient care.
Guided by this year’s cosmic theme — “Excellence in Cleanliness: One Space at a Time” and “Excellence in Transport: One Mission at a Time” — our celebration for National Environmental Services Week and National Patient Transport Week recognized both teams for enhancing the patient experience with every action.
During the celebration, staff came together to enjoy shared moments of connection, including meals and sweet treats, music and entertainment, thoughtful gifts and lively games, creating unforgettable memories.
But the real focus was not the activities themselves, but rather the people whose contributions elevate our mission.
Our Environmental Services team members are the guardians of safety and set the stage for healing by upholding the highest standards of cleanliness. Their diligence prevents infections, protects families and ensures that every patient who walks through our doors feels secure in their environment.
Our Patient Transport team members serve as trusted guides, moving patients through their care journey with calm reassurance. Their kindness eases worry, builds trust and transforms a stressful moment into one of comfort.
The essential work of these teams helps build trust with our patients. They remind us daily that excellence is not a destination but a collaborative effort that starts with community.
Every clean room and every safe transfer is the result of our teams’ commitment to our goal of staying united as one space across our galaxy of care.
“Our Environmental Services and Patient Transport teams set the foundation for everything we do,” said Emilia Ilinca, director of Environmental Services and Sustainability. “Their steady presence, transformative skills and essential care build trust with our patients and ensure every family feels supported from the moment they enter our doors.”
