Congratulations to our ATXcellence Awards winners in Austin! Three winners were chosen for employee, provider and partner awards. Below are excerpts from each winner’s nomination form.
Dr. Beenish Rubbab – Infectious Disease
Dr. Rubbab demonstrates excellence in her clinical care each day. She improved guidelines for cases as well as getting the antimicrobial stewardship program off the ground in Austin. The stewardship program is currently making significant strides in decreasing unnecessary antibiotic use and this is in large part due to in-person reviews with providers.
We are continually impressed with Dr. Rubbab’s ability to understand how to make solutions that work for the majority and her wonderful communication skills.
This simple idea grew into a massive effort that brought together Texas Children’s employees and community members in an unforgettable way. Kristin engaged Texas Children’s employees and our Kangaroo Crew ambulance team to deliver essential supplies for children to Williamson County relief sites.
Dustin Stair – Head Chef, Morrison Food Services
When our team recently faced operational challenges, Dustin stepped up to provide hands-on training and ownership of the kitchen operation. He helps ensure that every aspect of food safety, quality, and cleanliness meet — and often exceeded — the highest standards. His commitment was evident in the way he engaged staff, reinforced best practices, and maintained a culture of accountability in the weeks after our initial survey.
Dustin’s leadership, accountability and commitment to excellence have had a direct, positive impact on our kitchen, our campus, and the experiences of those we serve. He exemplifies the standard of care and professionalism our organization strives for every day.
