Focusing on the fundamentals of quality, safety, service and disciplined management allows us to uphold our standards of clinical excellence.
That commitment came to life last week when the Quality, Service and Safety department hosted a series of engaging activities and educational events highlighted by the inaugural Quality Symposium—a milestone gathering that united teams from across the system to share innovative projects, improvement strategies, and success stories.
We were honored to welcome Dr. David Williams as our keynote speaker. His inspiring presentation titled “Quality as Our Strategy: Bringing Improvement Science to the Whole System,” challenged us to think boldly and act collaboratively in our pursuit of excellence.

This year, Texas Children’s Hospital proudly celebrated Healthcare Quality Week (HQW) from October 21–25, to shine a light on the remarkable impact our quality and safety experts have on our organization and the communities we serve.
The 2025 national theme, “Celebrate Our Impact, Fuel Our Future,” perfectly reflects our commitment to focusing on the fundamentals.
Since its founding in 1985 by the National Association for Healthcare Quality, HQW has honored the invaluable contributions of professionals dedicated to improving healthcare quality and safety.
HWQ provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our HEART values and celebrate the outstanding work happening across our system. We have much to be proud of—and even more to look forward to.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment, passion and dedication to making quality and safety a daily priority.
