Do you know a high school student between the ages of 15 and 17, looking for a meaningful way to give back this summer? The Texas Children’s Summer Junior Program in the Medical Center is a highly coveted program that provides students an incredible opportunity to support patients, families, and staff through a variety of volunteer assignments and interactive engagements throughout the hospital.
This year’s program will run Monday, June 10, through Thursday, July 18, and volunteers can earn up to 144 service hours. Junior volunteers participating in the program will interact with other like-minded students and help support the mission of Texas Children’s Hospital, which is to create a healthier future for children and women throughout our global community by leading in patient care, education, and research.
Important dates to consider/remember:
- February 21 – Submission deadline for the full application, video, and both letters of recommendation
- March 8 – Volunteers will be notified of acceptance
- March 25 – Selected candidates must submit health requirements by this deadline
