Management was calling Officers into the office to be evaluated for their annual performances. When it was my turn to be evaluated, management broke the pleasant news to me.

What does it mean to be recognized for the hard work you do? How has the organization helped you achieve your personal and professional goals?

Being recognized to me means that my efforts and contributions are not overlooked and are appreciated by my colleagues and Supervisors.

This Organization has been a great catalyst for my personal growth and professional career development. My leadership and peers alike have continued to push me to grow and aim for new heights by providing a positive work environment and training programs.

What do you think makes someone at Texas Children’s a super star?

Consistent drive for excellence in aspects of your reach for both the patients, family and fellow employees. Being pro-active in problem solving to ensure seamless patient care.

What is your motivation for going above and beyond every day at work?

Striving to give the patients and families the best possible care and safe environment so they can focus on what is most important.

What is the best thing about working at Texas Children’s?

The deep rooted culture since day one is a complete game changer. You can tell that everyone loves what they do and have the same goal in mind, PATIENT CARE.

What does it mean to you that everyone at Texas Children’s is considered a leader? What is your leadership definition?

Everyone can continue to learn, grow and teach up and down the chain of command, and can make an impact regardless of their Job Title. All tasks play a crucial role in helping the hospital run smoothly.

Leadership to me is the ability to use emotional intelligence to assist in aligning your team’s values and goals with your organizations to ensure sustainable high productivity while also looking out for your team’s welfare and health.

From the seven years serving in The Marine Corps learning different leadership styles and methods; to the different departments like EVS, Supply Chain and Security Services I have had the opportunity to work in, I have continued to learn and grow from everyone at Texas Children’s Hospital and greatly look forward to being able to learn, grow and teach as I continue my AWESOME journey with our ONE AMAZING TEAM!!
