Texas Children’s Hospital is excited to announce Senior Vice President Janet Winebar, DNP, MSM, RN, CNML, FAONL, was recently inducted into the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) 2024 Class of Fellows at their annual conference in New Orleans.

The AONL Fellow designation (FAONL) recognizes a nurse leader’s sustained contributions to the specialty of nursing leadership, commitment to service and influence in shaping health care. These nurses have earned the highest mark of achievement in nursing leadership.

“I want to share my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Winebar on this tremendous and well-deserved accomplishment,” said System Chief Nurse Executive Jackie Ward. “This designation reflects excellence at the highest level of nursing leadership, and we’re beyond of Janet for her outstanding representation of leadership at Texas Children’s Hospital and as an AONL Fellow.”

Dr. Winebar joined Texas Children’s in 2015 and has 42 years of pediatric experience, including 23 years in progressive nursing leadership, and a proven record of accomplishment implementing strategic initiatives. Her professional passions are leadership development, team empowerment, quality improvement, financial management, collaboration and innovation.

“I consider this designation an honor and validation of my career focus on excellence in nursing leadership,” said Winebar. “I enjoy collaborating with other nursing leaders, both at Texas Children’s and throughout the nation, to achieve outcomes and look forward to expanding that reach.”
