2017 Caught You Caring recipient
Joyce Enochs has been the face of Patient Experience for the Perioperative Services Department for the last three years. Her enthusiasm has been the driving force for the team to continue to increase the experience for our families. In her role, she has taken on many projects to increase the patient experience for thousands of patients and families. Her work on appropriate and consistent communication for pre-op information has dramatically decreased errors in arrival time, location of surgery, and eating and drinking instructions. Her work on “truth in scheduling” has decreased the daily cancellation rate on day of surgery from 8 percent to 3 percent. What an impact her work has had on the patient experience to decrease the numbers of patients sent back home on the day of surgery! These are just a few of the examples of Joyce showing compassion in her daily work that earned her the 2017 Caught You Caring Award.
