Team Leader Pathology is a calming influence on uneasy patients

We’re excited to celebrate our 70th anniversary with Patient Experience Week – and the opportunity to highlight contributions of team members committed to building up our culture of care. It’s a joy to recognize Caught You Caring honoree, Patricia Bratcher.

Patricia, Team Leader Pathology at The Woodlands Campus, is the epitome of patience and consideration. She was praised, recently, by a mother thankful for Patricia’s willingness to focus on the young girl’s comfort and care.

“Ms. Bratcher did an amazing job of calming my daughter down prior to blood work; she had become very worked up and anxious. She was patient and so understanding. Spoke to her at her level and reassured her that she was in control. Gave her a great coping mechanism. During the procedure, my daughter had a vasovagal response and she immediately took action to ensure her safety. She never once made my daughter feel like she did something wrong and let us take the time we needed to complete the procedure. Ms. Bratcher is an exemplary example of why it is so important to have employees who understand the nuances of working with pediatric patients.”
