Voter registration deadline is October 11

Are you registered to vote? The 2022 General Election is November 8, 2022 and the deadline to register to vote or update your voter information in Texas is October 11, 2022. Visit votetexas.gov to help confirm your voter registration status, update your voter information, or complete your mail-in voter registration application.

Every U.S. citizen has a right to vote, and the simple steps below will provide you with the pathway to register to vote or assist you in confirming your registration status and information.

1. Eligibility Requirements
In Texas, you are eligible to register to vote as long as you meet all of the eligibility criteria. To check your eligibility, click here.

2. Completing Your Application

If you are a new voter in Texas, the Secretary of State’s office has identified several options to register to vote, including:

  • Registering to vote when obtaining a Texas Driver License or Texas ID card at the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS);
  • Registering to vote when renewing, replacing or updating your Texas Driver License or Texas ID card, or
  • Complete an application and mail to your county voter registrar.
  • Remember to make sure your voter registration application is postmarked by Tuesday, October 11 to vote in the November 8th General Election.

If you are already registered to vote and simply need to update information on your voter registration record, such as your address, name or identification number(s), visit the Secretary of State’s website here.

3. Verify Your Voter Registration Status
To confirm your voter registration was received and processed, you can visit votetexas.gov and click on ‘Am I Registered?‘ to check your registration status.

Texas Children’s voter registration resources:
From Noon – 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, there will be tables set up at the following locations to provide team members with information on how to register:

  • Medical Center campus: The Auxiliary Bridge
  • West Campus: Main lobby near the corridor leading to the café
  • The Woodlands campus: Lobby area on the first floor
  • Meyer Building: First floor by the security desk
  • TCHP 6330 West Loop S: Basement conference room
