Maintain Don’t Gain Holiday Well-Being Challenge starts November 12

When the weather gets colder, the days get shorter and baked goods begin appearing in abundance, we know the holiday season is approaching – but did you know the average person puts on 1 to 5 pounds during the holiday season? While it might not sound like much, most people never manage to lose the extra weight and, year after year, those pesky holiday pounds can really add up.

In the spirit of living compassionately and supporting our Texas Children’s employees in staying healthy during the holiday season, your Employee Health and Well-Being team is launching Maintain Don’t Gain: an eight-week holiday challenge designed to provide participants with the motivation, tips, and accountability to maintain their weight during a time of year when it is often harder to eat healthy foods and fit in exercise.

Challenge details
Maintain Don’t Gain will run from Monday, November 12, to Friday, January 4.
The goal of the challenge is to maintain your weight, lose weight, or gain two pounds or less during the holiday season. Participants will receive a tracking form to stay accountable during the challenge and motivational tips to help keep them from overindulging this holiday season. Participants who maintain their weight, lose weight, or gain two pounds or less during the holiday season will receive a red leather Texas Children’s journal. Additional information about the challenge is available on the Well-Being site on Connect.
