Drs. Nicci & Chris Greeley named Burrell Legacy Honorees for contributions to Kids’ Meals organization

Congratulations to Drs. Nicci & Christopher Greeley, who were recently honored with the Burrell Legacy Award at the Kids’ Meals 14th Annual Harvest Luncheon for their countless contributions to the Kids’ Meals Foundation.

Kids’ Meals is a first-responder to preschool-age children facing debilitating hunger due to extreme poverty. Since 2006, the organization has been making and delivering free healthy meals directly to the homes of Greater Houston’s hungriest children.

“Doctors Chris and Nicci Greeley, both pediatricians, found Kids’ Meals 10 years ago when their triplet sons, John, Spencer, and Grant participated in a school-wide volunteer sandwich making project. Today, they’ve continued to be an invaluable asset in helping the Kids’ Meals mission thrive and shaping our strategy in helping lift families out of poverty.

Both Chris and Nicci have donated countless hours making and delivering meals and shared their special gift of developmental knowledge and advice. As pediatricians, they know the importance of early childhood brain development and Chris is a renowned expert on food insecurity. Nicci joined the Kids’ Meals Board, and a few years later, Chris, who had started the division of Public Health Pediatrics at Texas Children’s Hospital, partnered with Kids’ Meals in obtaining grant funding to expand wrap-around services.

Their hardworking reliable sons, seniors at Strake Jesuit, spent their whole summer as warehouse help, bringing in friends, helping the drivers and keeping spirits motivated with their humor. They’ve participated in many special events over the years and have enjoyed sponsoring families at Christmas. Kids’ Meals is grateful for their commitment to seeing the future of the organization continue to prosper and grow.”
