Texas Children’s employees as well as patients and their family members are invited to test drive the da Vinici 4th Gen XI System and experience its immersive 3D surgical environment.
The XI System will be on display from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, February 24, in the pre-function area by the escalators on the fourth floor of the Pavilion for Women.
Please contact Tamara Frazier at 832-826-3604 for questions or more information about the event.
The Pavilion for Women recently purchased the da Vinici 4th Gen XI System to use during certain procedures. The surgical robot is one of several robotic surgeons at the Pavilion have at their disposal.
Robotic surgery using the da Vinci® Surgical System from Intuitive Surgical allows robotic surgeons at Texas Children’s to perform minimally invasive reconstructive procedures. The 3-D visualization, intuitive computer-enhanced motion control, smaller instruments and increased range of motion allow for delicate surgical procedures to be performed with tiny “keyhole” incisions.
The benefits of robotic surgery include:
- Smaller incisions
- Shorter hospital stays
- Decreased postoperative pain medication requirements
- Smaller scars and improved cosmetic appearance after surgery
