Leah Garza has been instrumental and impactful in the improvement of patient care outcomes on the Cancer Center inpatient unit. She serves as a preceptor and mentor for new team members and is regarded as the unit content expert for one of the most complex therapies provided at Texas Children’s.

One of Leah’s co-workers had this to say about Leah, “From her first day on the unit, I knew Leah was going to be an amazing nurse. She exudes confidence in her practice and is a reliable resource to many of the other nurses on the unit. I have great admiration for Leah, for her advocacy for her patients and their families…she is always the first person to volunteer when there is a need to be met…her strong attention to detail and excellent patient care skills make her a respected co-worker and leader on our unit.”
