Craig Walters, HVAC Mechanic for Facilities Operations, died June 17, 2018 at the age of 57.
Craig joined Texas Children’s more than 20 years ago.
He was born in Houston, Texas, grew up in Meyerland and graduated Bellaire High School. Craig was a member of the Bellaire baseball team, playing shortstop, as they made two trips to the state championship. He was involved in little league as a player and coach. He loved baseball and treasured these memories always.
Craig attended both Texas A&M University and The University of Houston. His working career was spent with Texas Children’s Hospital where he spent over 20 years and enjoyed the company of countless friends and fellow employees.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Walters Vernon and step father Donald; sister Jan Walters Witham and husband Nyal, Houston; Texas sister, Carol Sue Stewart and husband Ron; and niece Stephanie Stewart, Scottsdale, Arizona.
A Celebration of Life Service was held July 9 at Second Baptist Church/Chapel, 6400 Woodway Drive.
