American Heart Association honors chief of cardiology at Heart Ball

Dr. Daniel Penny, chief of Cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital, has been named the medical honoree at the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Heart Ball, A Celebration of Heart. The Heart Ball is one of the largest fundraising events locally and nationally for the AHA. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, February 14, and is celebrating the lives saved and improved through the efforts of those involved with the AHA.

“I am honored to be this year’s medical honoree and to represent Texas Children’s,” Penny said. “The AHA plays an important role in supporting research which makes an impact in the care we all deliver to our heart center patients on a daily basis.”

In its 90th year, the AHA’s mission is to promote healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. As part of the Heart Ball campaign, the AHA will deliver meals to families spending Valentine’s Day at Texas Children’s.
